Ordinary Housewife (Demo v.2)

ORDINARY HOUSEWIFE
    by Jackson Kienitz

I’ll be / just an ordinary housewife
You’ll see / when I’m living in the bonfire
I’ll be / just a G.I. Joe in their thoughts
They’ll see / you’re a leader and I’m not

We’ll pretend / that I am made of clay
Color my mind / with your throwaways

My lips are made of plasticine and a sculptor with fast fingers molds them
to laugh at your jokes
Can’t they tell the difference between laughter of the eyes and laughter
of the belly

I’ll play / the pink flamingo and a lamp shade
I’ll raise / the children that you named in eighth grade

I’ll learn / that it’s easier to say fine
In turn / you’ll have to smile with closed eyes

We’ll pretend / that this is all a game
Commentate life / give your play-by-play

My lips are made of plasticine and my armature will learn to sculpt
Get a BFA and frame-by-frame will animate
Something
Something new

We’ll pretend / that this is all a play
Who’s the shade / in the limelight now?
